Today is my first day back to work. While I wish I was still on holidays, I kinda like the idea of putting on makeup again. Today, I bring to you a simple work makeup look using just drugstore products. The whole look took me about 20 to 30 minutes to put together.
1. Klara Cosmetics Zero Pores No Fine Lines Primer*
This is a great drugstore primer for oily skin gals. It has a silicone feel which I don’t mind but I know a lot of people don’t like the feel of silicone.
2. Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation- 400 Natural Beige*
You don’t see me using this much on my Instagram as is its quite light for me. But for the purpose of this blog post and variety I decided to use it. It’s a great medium to full coverage, long lasting foundation. The only down side is the limited shade range.
3. Thin Lizzy Crème Concealer- Pacific Sun*
4. Revlon Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit-Medium*
I’ve been giving this palette a lot of love! After applying my concealer I applied some of the Banana shade under my eyes to set the concealer. Onto the cheeks, mixing the bronzer and contour shade I applied this in a 3 shape using the contour brush provided. I love this palette to create a subtle sculpted look.

Welcome to 2017! Crazy!!! A couple of weeks ago, I brought you my Best Beauty Finds of 2016, great beauty discoveries but not necessarily faves, click here to check them out. Now let’s talk about who made the cut!
Applying my foundation with a Beauty Blender is a must! Its vary rare that I use a brush to apply my foundation, however some foundations do work better when applied with a brush. For me the Beauty Blender is easy and creates the most flawless base ever! Click here for a comparison to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
MAC Eye Kohl- Teddy
I’ve been so time poor in the morning that I haven’t had time to wear eyeshadow on a daily basis. My go to when I’m running late is to apply some Teddy eyeliner to my top lash liner and waterline for some added definition.
Hylamide Photography Foundation*
This is a goldy toned liquid highlighter, but can be used mixed in with foundation or primer. Personally, I like it as a liquid highlighter as a base to my powder highlighter.

Now I know we haven’t even had Christmas yet, but I’m jumping the gun and getting excited about New Year’s Eve! I wanted to share a makeup look I created for my work Christmas party but could totally be recreated for New Year’s Eve. I really wanted to create a look with glitter, because they’re not many times in the year we can wear glitter, so YOLO! You can easily change the glitter to match whatever you’re wearing xx
1. MAC Paint Pot- Quite Natural
Because I was going to use glitter, I decided it was best to start with the eyes first. I applied the MAC paint pot all over the lids and blended the edges with a fluffy brush.
2. Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic Waterproof Eye Define- Black*
I applied the black eye liner in my water line, tight line and top lash line for some added definition.
3. MAC Glitter- Reigning Riches
Now onto the star of the show, the beautiful glitter! To start off with, I held a piece of tissue under my eye so it would catch the fall out. Then using a flat shader brush, I pushed the glitter onto my lid until I created the desired effect. If you have glitter glue I would recommend applying beforehand. I didn’t want to buy any so I just used the MAC Paint Pot as a sticky base. Another alternative would be to apply some lash glue, but I not sure how safe that would be….
4. MAC Eyeshadow- Spectacle of Yourself
Using a cranberry toned eyeshadow I applied this to my lower lash line to smoke it out further.
5. Loreal False Lash Butterfly Sculpt Mascara*
To finish off the eyes, I applied mascara to my top and bottom lashes. False lashes would also look amazing with this look, but I didn’t have enough time…
