Body Moisturisers for All Skin Types

Hello Beauties,

With winter literally upon us moisturising our bodies is a must. Body moisturisers are a personal preference, some like thick creams, while other people like thin lotions that absorb quickly. To help navigate the body moisturiser market, I’ve put together a few suggestions to suit everyone’s preferences.

Vaseline Total Moisture Dry Skin*

While this moisturiser is targeted at dry skin, its suitable for all skin types. It’s a really light weight lotion, with a faint scent (I think of Shea Butter). It’s easy and quick to blend into the skin. Also contains Glycerin which is a key ingredient to add moisturiser to the skin.

Manuka Biotic Nourishing Repair Body Lotion*

This contains manuka oil and some of my other faves like jojoba, rosehip and calendula, so you know it’s gonna be hydrating! What’s unique about this body lotion it anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory to help soothe and moisturiser skin. It has a distinct tea tree oil smell, however I think it must be the Manuka oil… It blends in really quickly into the skin, not heavy and the smell disappears quickly. This would be suitable for all skin types.

QV Skin Lotion*

If you have sensitive skin then this is for you! Really light weight, no scent, easy to blend and fast drying. This lotions also contains 5% Glycerin. Click here for a full review of the QV range.

Palmolive Oil Infusion Body Moisturiser in Rose with Macadamia Oil*

This reminds me of the Redwin Body Lotion, light weight and easy to blend into the skin. What amazed me about this body moisturiser was how fragrant it was, in a good way. It also felt quite nourishing which probably has to do with the macadamia oil. If you have sensitive skin or don’t like heavily scented products than this is a miss.

How to Stay Hydrated with QV

Hello beauties,

I had the lovely pleasure of attending the Discover QV event, introducing their new ambassador Kate Ritchie! Dr Penny Alexander, leading Dermatologist shared some tips to stay hydrated this winter which I’ll be sharing with you today. I also had the opportunity to test my skin to see how hydrated or dehydrated my skin was. Now I knew my skin was dry, but I was actually a 9 out of 100 on my arms which is severely dehydrated!! Lucky for all of you, QV are giving you the opportunity to test your hydration levels at your local shopping centre, from July 1. Make sure to check out their website and facebook page for location and dates.

Dr Penny’s tips for healthy skin this winter:

  • Look for products with Glycerin as it prevents the loss of moisture in the skin. All of QV products contain different levels of Glycerin to suit all skin types
  • Avoid soap as its strips the skin of natural oils
  • Make sure to wear SPF even in winter
  • Avoid unnecessary chemicals, fragrances and additives. This is why I love the QV range, its free of all the nasties and super gentle on the skin
  • Don’t spend too long in a hot shower as the hot water can dry out your skin
  • Choose the right moisturiser for you

Teenage Blemish Prone Skincare Routine

Hello lovelies,

I’ve recently been asked by a teenage family friend for some skincare advice. This is for you 😉

Hopefully this post will also provide some advice to anyone with blemish prone skin. Here’s a few products that will help with pesky spots, the products themselves are affordable and the routine is super simple.

Benzac Daily Facial Liquid Cleanser*

This is a gentle cleanser targeted at blemish prone skin and can be used morning and night. It’s a gel like texture but more liquidy than a gel. Personally I love that this removes all the excess oils without drying out my skin, however it’s not the best at removing the last remnants of makeup. It also contains Calendula and Aloe Vera so it’s quite soothing on the skin.
