Makeup of the Day: Everyday

Hello beauties,

I realised it’s been forever since I did a makeup of the day on the blog. In terms of makeup, I’ve been keeping it quite simple as I’m pretty time poor in the morning. Here’s been my go to with a few products changed from time to time.

Becca Backlighting Priming Filter*

This is an amazing primer and my go to in the cooler weather. It provides a bit of a healthy glow and your makeup won’t slide off by the end of the day. Click here for a full review.

It Cosmetics CC+ Illumination and Smashbox BB Cream

I mix a bit of the It Cosmetics CC Cream and the Smashbox BB Cream to get the perfect shade. I should mention that the Smashbox BB Cream is so underrated. It’s a great BB Cream and I highly recommend. To apply the combo, I use a damp Beauty Blender and am left with a fresh glow and medium coverage.

Thin Lizzy Concealer Créme*

My go to concealer. Great for highlighting the under eye area and provides medium coverage but buildable.

Makeup of the Day: New Year’s Eve

Hello beauties,

Now I know we haven’t even had Christmas yet, but I’m jumping the gun and getting excited about New Year’s Eve! I wanted to share a makeup look I created for my work Christmas party but could totally be recreated for New Year’s Eve. I really wanted to create a look with glitter, because they’re not many times in the year we can wear glitter, so YOLO! You can easily change the glitter to match whatever you’re wearing xx

1. MAC Paint Pot- Quite Natural

Because I was going to use glitter, I decided it was best to start with the eyes first. I applied the MAC paint pot all over the lids and blended the edges with a fluffy brush.

2. Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic Waterproof Eye Define- Black*

I applied the black eye liner in my water line, tight line and top lash line for some added definition.

3. MAC Glitter- Reigning Riches

Now onto the star of the show, the beautiful glitter! To start off with, I held a piece of tissue under my eye so it would catch the fall out. Then using a flat shader brush, I pushed the glitter onto my lid until I created the desired effect. If you have glitter glue I would recommend applying beforehand. I didn’t want to buy any so I just used the MAC Paint Pot as a sticky base. Another alternative would be to apply some lash glue, but I not sure how safe that would be….

4. MAC Eyeshadow- Spectacle of Yourself

Using a cranberry toned eyeshadow I applied this to my lower lash line to smoke it out further.

5. Loreal False Lash Butterfly Sculpt Mascara*

To finish off the eyes, I applied mascara to my top and bottom lashes. False lashes would also look amazing with this look, but I didn’t have enough time…

Makeup Products Worth Repurchasing

Hi beauties,

As a beauty blogger I’m lucky enough to be sent loads of products to try. As a reader it can be hard to know which products I actually truly love and which ones are just alright… Even for myself I find it hard to know what I really love using. So here are the makeup products that I love and use practically every day and would be happy enough to repurchase with my own dollars!

Benefit Porefessional

This primer is awesome for my oily skin. I use this practically every day under liquid foundation as it creates a smooth canvas and keeps the oils at bay. For a dupe, the Innoxa Skin Perfecting Vanishing Cream is fantastic! Click here for a comparison of the two primers.

Loreal True Match Foundation

Holy grail liquid foundation! I wear this practically every day. Click here for a full review.

Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation

This foundation is a tad light on me, so I mix it with the Loreal True Match. When I pair the two together, I have a full coverage, flawless base that lasts all day. Click here for a full review.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation

Love love love! I wear this every day in summer as it keeps me looking flawless even when I get oily. I use this as an all over foundation or as a setting powder on top of liquid foundation. Click here for a full review.

Benefit Brow Zing

While I haven’t needed to repurchase this product, I use this every day and can’t imagine life without it! I love this brow kit! Creates a beautiful strong brow without being overpowering. I’ve finally hit pan and I’ve had this for three years! Well worth the investment.

NARS Bronzer- Casino

Great bronzer, not orangey and not too shimmery. Yes its expensive but its worth it.

The Balm Betty Lou Manizer

Now this is such an underrated product, but oh so amazing! This is a highlighting bronzer that adds the most amazing glow. If you have fair skin this may not suit, however on my dark skin it looks so amazing! I know I’ve said amazing three times, but it just is!

Milani Baked Blush- Berry Amore

When I first purchased this I used this every day! I love that it has a hint of shimmer without looking glittery. Great drugstore blush!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick- Redrum

This is one of my favourite lipsticks! If you’re a regular follower you know how much I love red lipstick and this would have to be my favourite! Beautiful red colour, not too drying on the lips and lasts really well throughout the day.

MAC Kohl Liner- Teddy

I’ve fallen back in love with this eye liner! I use this daily for some added definition as the bronze colour is a lot less harsh than using black. Definitely check out Teddy when you’re next at MAC.

I hope you found this post helpful as I wanted to show you my true makeup favourites. All these products I would happily purchase with my hard earned dollars.
