As you all know I’m a self confessed skincare addict. I also think I’m a know it all, but by no means I do not know it all. However over the years while battling to obtain clear skin I’ve learnt a few things about skincare. Today I wanted to share my understanding of skincare ingredients so hopefully you can make a more informed decision when purchasing skincare.
Salicylic Acid is targeted at acne/blemish prone skin as it penetrates deep into the skin. I’m not much of a fan of Salicylic Acid as I feel it just doesn’t work quick enough for my skin. It’s that time of year in Australia when the winds have changed, the days are getting shorter and the temperature has dropped dramatically. When the weather gets colder, my skin gets dryer and that’s when I bring out these old favourites containing Hyaluronic Acid.

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron*
This is an oldie but a goodie, recommended by the Skincare Guru Caroline Hirons. Hydraluron is a thin serum that I apply before my moisturiser at night. I love that it’s so light weight but leaves my skin feeling really hydrated. Also, this is a really affordable drugstore serum!

Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm*
For a first cleanse I’ve been using an old favourite the Emma Hardie cleansing balm. It’s so nourishing on the skin, removes all makeup and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. Because I have oily/ acne prone skin I need to go in with a second cleanse.
Ultraceuticals Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser*
I love this cleanser, it’s so gentle and doesn’t strip my skin of its natural oils.
