Pregnancy Beauty Essentials

Hi Beauties,

A lot of you have asked me to share my pregnancy skincare routine but to be honest it hasn’t really changed. The only thing that I no longer use is Retinol or Vitamin A as it can have negative effects on the baby- don’t ask me about the science but basically you’re advised to stop using it when pregnant.

Anyway since my routine hadn’t changed much, however there were a lot of new pregnancy related beauty products I started to use and love I thought I would share them with you.

The Jojoba Company Jojoba Oil*

Jojoba Oil has been my best friend during my pregnancy! I started using it the moment I was pregnant and then I switched to a different oil and bang I started to notice tiny stretch marks on my belly at 16 weeks. So I immediately stopped and went back to Jojoba Oil and they disappeared. I’ve tried a few different oils throughout my pregnancy but I’ve loved Jojoba Oil the most. Its not too oily, absorbs quickly into the skin and really has helped prevent stretch marks.

Palmers Stretch Mark Body Lotion

When I first started noticing those pesky stretch marks pop up I knew I had to increase the hydration on my bump. I personally didn’t want to put oil on my belly during the day so I picked up this Stretch Mark Body Lotion and its been great! It feels like the normal Palmers Cocoa Butter, easy to blend into the skin and not sticky. I feel the combo of both the body lotion and Jojoba Oil has really helped prevent stretch marks.

The Base Collective Magnesium Oil*

Early into my pregnancy I was having really bad leg cramps but they seem to have disappeared as I’ve progressed- don’t ask me why. Anyway, everyone has been raving about how great Magnesium Oil is for cramps so I thought I would try this on my legs every night. And voila, by using this Magnesium Oil every night it reduced the frequency of my leg cramps and the duration. Also great if you exercise regularly or struggle to sleep. Ultraceuticals B2 Hydrating Serum

The Ultraceuticals B2 Hydrating Serum has always been a favourite- click here for a full review. But as my skin has been getting more dehydrated as I progress in my pregnancy and with the change of weather this has been a life saviour! Add some much hydration without making me oily. I tend to use 1 – 1.5 pumps each night and if I need a little extra I will also layer it in the morning.

Lip Balm

Lip balm is life! Make sure to find a lip balm that works for you and layer like crazy! As much as I thought the Lanegie Lip Mask was average I still keep going back to it and layering it. For some reason when pregnant my lips just feel dry- but that could be the change of weather as well.

Exfoliator

Since I had to stop using Retinol while pregnant I wanted to make sure that I still had amazing skin by using a gentle exfoliant. I really enjoyed using a physical exfoliant on my body and a chemical exfoliant on my face.

My favourite chemical exfoliants have been; Alpha H Liquid Gold which is great if you’ve been using exfoliants regularly. And Pixi Glow Tonic from Beautopia which is a great gentle exfoliant if you have sensitive skin. Use RACHELBEAUTY15 for a 15% discount- and no its not an affiliate code, just a great discount for you.

My favourite physical exfoliant has been; Eco by Sonya Driver Organic Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub from Beautopia.

Hope you find this post useful! Also here’s my morning skincare routine and evening skincare routine in case you want to check it out x
