When Ardell launched their Magnetic Lash*, women around the world rejoiced! Finally applying false lashes would be easy! But are they really that easy to apply? I saw a few beauty bloggers really struggle with them, so my expectations lowered dramatically. So here’s my experiences with the Ardell Magnetic Lash*.
- They look to retail for $13.99 AUD, which is only a little bit more expensive then their normal lashes. While they are a bit bit more pricey, it will be worth it as you won’t have lash glue ruining the lash band.
- I have the style called “Double” which look like Demi Wispies. They also come in Double Demi Wispies and Double Wispies. I went with Double as since you have to stack them, I didn’t want them to be that intense.
- The lash pack comes with a magnetic lash applicator, and two sets of lashes as you need to stack them to get them to stay in place.
- I tried following the instructions- but had no luck at all. In simple terms, you apply the top set of lashes to the lash applicator then the bottom lashes to the bottom part of the lash applicator. From them, direct the lash applicator to your real lashes then stamp it close. Sounds easy right? Wrong! Its easy enough to get the top lashes on the lash applicator but I couldn’t seem to get the bottom one on without them sticking together.
- So after giving up on the lash application, I decided to go a bit old school using my fingers to apply the lashes directly to my eye area.
- I started by applying the top set of lashes on my natural lashes. Then taking the bottom lashes, I slowly moved it up, and just like that it snapped into place.
- It took me about 10 minutes to apply these lashes due to all the fiddlyness and trying to line them up.
- It was relatively easy to apply it this way, however I found it difficult if I needed to readjust. Also throughout the day, it seemed like it moved lower down my natural lashes. It didn’t look that way, but it felt that way.
- I also asked my friends if they noticed anything different about my lashes and they commented no which is good. I wanted to see if they noticed there was something different about these lashes.
I also asked the girls at work to try them and they really struggled with the lash applicator. They all found it easier to apply it with their fingers, but agreed its a bit fiddly.
Overall I thought I did a pretty good job, not the perfect lash application but probably a lot easier if you’re a newbie to false lashes. Some other positives include, they didn’t fall off or bother me throughout the day and I didn’t need to wear any liner, the lashes were able to get super close to my natural lash line.
However, a big BUT is coming, I much prefer normal falsies. I’ve been using falsies for quite some time now and find it relatively easy to apply. These magnetic lashes were a bit too fiddly for me. If you’re a complete newbie to falsies then you should check these out.

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about these lashes – a lot of people don’t seem to like them. I like the sound of them because I don’t wear lashes very often and find that I always get glue everywhere haha but they also sound quite tricky to apply. Might have to just give it a go and see how they go. They do look gorgeous on!

Then these could be a good option! I agree, when I first started with applying false lashes its was the glue that made it so difficult.

Despite a few people saying they are a little tricky to apply I still really want to try them out. I don’t wear false lashes much, mainly because of the application process. I would really like to see whether these are easy enough for me to apply.

So many mixed reviews, so I was keen to put them to the test. As you can see I don’t hate them and I can honestly see how some people would absolutely love them.

I don’t usually wear falsies as my eyes are super sensitive and I don’t like applying them. I am tempted to give these magnetic lashes a go however.

They didn’t irritate my eyes at all, I thought the magnets might but no issues whatsoever.

I wonder how much I would suck at applying these?? I cannot for the life of me, put lashes on myself without ruining my eye makeup or getting so frustrated that I end up in tears! haha I can put them on other people but when it comes to me.. nope, no way! I think I may have to give them a try!!

I know, the struggle is real! Which is why these are great, you don’t have to worry about lash glue and it honestly cannot ruin your makeup.

I think that’s the key with any false lashes, practice. I’m so much better with applying from falsies and it all comes back to practice.

I’ve heard so many people have the same issues with the magnetic lash range, such a shame they’re so time-consuming and fidgety. Love Ardell wispies range! They look lovely on you even if they were a little tricky.

Ooh they do sound a bit time consuming to apply! Ardell is my go-to lash brand though, I love their normal falsies.

If you’re fine with their normal lashes, I would suggest sticking to them. I prefer their normal Wispies, so easy to apply with practice.
