As a Beauty Blogger I’m very fortunate to try lots of new beauty products. To be honest it can be very overwhelming- which I know sounds ungrateful so please don’t take it the wrong way. My concerns are more around the fact that I have only one face and one body so there’s only so much I can use. So that’s why I wanted to share some of the new products I’ve been trialling so you know what’s worth spending your money on and where to save.
Nest Fragrances- Wisteria Eau de Parfum Spray*
Nest Fragrances are relatively new to Sephora Australia, but are one of the best selling perfumes in the US. Last year I was all about the scent Citrine- think citrus but not sickly and definetely does not remind me of cleaning products. Now enter in the new scent Wisteria, my new fave! I don’t really know how to describe it, but its floral, without being sweet and not overpowering. I also find that their perfumes last really long on my skin which is a massive win!
Smith & Cult Nail Polish- Pillow Pie*
You all know my recent obsession with Smith & Cult Nail Polishes. But as majority voted against a blog post, which I completely understand I wanted to share my favourite shade, Pillow Pie! Its an opaque baby pink shade, think OPI Mod About You but not as pink and lasts way longer on the nails. Smith & Cult is available from Sephora Australia and selected boutique salons.
Arbonne The Real Conceal Liquid Concealer*
Arbonne has just launched these new concealers, great to use on the skin to cover blemishes but also to highlight and conceal under the eyes. As an under eye concealer, I find its hydrating, medium coverage, brightening but also moves a little. I find the best way to apply it is to mix it with the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer for more coverage. The Arbonne concealer comes in 7 shades (even dark enough for myself) and retails for $39 AUD.
Maybelline X Gigi Hadid Wing Mascara*
I didn’t love this mascara, I prefered the fiber mascara. It’s not a bad mascara but just not as good as the other formula. I found it good at lengthening and holding a curl, but doesn’t add volume. I also think its a tubular formula.
YUNI CHILLAX Muscle Recovery Gel*
YUNI is a new brand to Sephora Australia developed for Yogis, but great for anyone that exercises. Chillax is such a unique product, its a muscle relaxer/ recovery gel. It reminds me of Tiger Balm but not as intense. I love using this at night after a long day. It comes in a roller balm form, so you just roll it wherever you feel pain/ tension. Then massage it into your skin. You’ll notice an intense cooling/ burning feeling that relieves the tension really well. I promise it won’t burn off your skin, but the sensation is very difficult to describe.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum*
I didn’t expect much from this, but literally in two days I noticed my undereyes looking amazing! I’ve now been using it for about a month and I love it! My under eyes are not as dark, the fine lines seem to be less prominent and makeup doesn’t seep into my fine lines. As it contains Retinol I only use it at night.
Murad City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer*
I was so keen to try this after hearing so many bloggers loving it. At first I didn’t like it. The smell is intense, I can’t pinpoint what it is but it is very pungent. Also the texture is not overly creamy, however it is quite moisturising. After about 2 months of use the smell doesn’t really bother me. I like the moisturiser, but its not a fave. To be honest I still don’t like the smell. The moisturier hydrates well, great to layer on top of serums, or layer oils on top of the moisturier. My skin looks great and didn’t break out.
Obagi ELASTIderm® Eye Complete Complex*
Its only early days into my trial of this eye serum, but since I was using the Murad Retinol Eye Serum at night I needed another eye serum for the morning so I shopped my stash. After hearing great things about Obagi, I decided to give the brand a go. I love that this eye serum comes in a roller ball form, and the ball is metal so its cooling and depuffs the under eye. The serum is also really thin, but hydrating and absorbs quickly into the skin. Its $104 which I think is a lot, but a little goes a long way. But let me trial it for longer before making you all buy it x
So there you have it, some amazing products and some passes. Let me know if you want an indepth review about any of the products mentioned.
