Product Empties: December

Hello beauties,

As we round up the year, I wanted to round up my empties. While I love doing monthly product empties I’ve got so much exciting content for next year that I’m no longer going to continue this series on the blog. I’ll still do my product empties sporadically via Instagram Stories- comment below if you like/ dislike the idea x

Zoella Beauty Shower Shake*

I was so excited to this moisturising body wash but was so disappointed. The smell is so strange- Ben describes it as marijuana. I don’t really know the scent but its gross.

Dr Jart Rubber Mask- Moisture Lover*

This scary looking face mask is pretty darn innovative. Basically you apply the serum all over to your face then place the rubber mask on top to lock in the moisture. While the rubber mask comes in two pieces, in theory should be easier to apply- which it kinda is, but its too small. I don’t even have a large face and the mask was poking into me eyes. For its overall effectiveness it was really good at adding moisture but I don’t think I would pay $18 for just one face mask.

Edible Beauty- Blooms of Youth Infusion Mask*

You know my love for this face mask. It’s one of the few sheet masks that I always go back to.

ALDI Cotton Rounds

I talk about these all the time, just buy them already.

Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peels*

I’ve gone through a few of these but don’t tend to keep the wrappers. These are amazing glycolic acid infused wipes. After using these wipes I’m left with beautiful, radiant skin.

Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Hydrating*

I love both the hydrating and mattifying formula. These are great moisturiser that contain SPF as well. They also don’t make my skin oily under makeup or if I wear them alone.

Edible Beauty No.2 Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist*

I enjoyed using this mist in the morning to wake up my skin before the gym.

Edible Beauty & Gold Rush Eye Balm*

I really enjoyed using this eye cream. I found it really hydrating but not too heavy if I wanted to use it under makeup. Also the gold flecks are pretty darn cool!

Swisse Sea Salt Body Polish*

I didn’t expect much from this scrub but fell in love with it. I loved the citrus scent and the scrub itself was gentle yet had some grit. It also left me skin feeling a bit hydrated which comes from the oils they use in the body scrub.

APOT.CARE Optilash Lash Enhancing Serum

I wanted to add volume and length to my lashes before my wedding and was being a tight arse and didn’t want to spend $100 on Lilash. So I bought this one after reading some great reviews. After about 2 months of regular use morning and night I barely noticed any difference to my lashes. I found that my lashes did look a bit longer but there was no volume. So I’ve decided to chuck this and invest the money in a more expensive lash serum.

Skinstitut Moisture Defence Ultra Dry*

One of my favourite moisturisers to use at night. Really hydrating, not sticky and absorbs well into the skin. While this is targeted at dry skin, I use it on my oily/ combo skin and its works perfectly. If you have dry skin I would be concerned this wouldn’t provide enough hydration for your skin.

Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser*

Again another one of my faves. A little of this goes a long way. Great for all skin types and gentle yet effective enough to be used morning and night. Only negative is the packaging, I feel too much product comes out and I waste the precious cleanser.

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Rose Gold

Not my favourite dry shampoo. The smell was quite over powering at first but disappeared soon after. Probably won’t be repurchasing this.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost

You know how much Ben and I love this moisturiser. Ben has been using this every night in the lead up to the wedding and his skin is looking pretty dang good. Already have a back up of this.

Dove Soap Bar

Another favourite of Ben’s. We always have Dove soap in our shower mainly for Ben. But if I feel like using soap then Dove is the way to go. Always so gentle and nourishing.

For Beloved One- Hyaluronic Acid Mask*

Really enjoyed this sheet mask for some added hydration. These are quite pricey so I didn’t use them that regularly. I feel to get the full benefits you need to use the consistently.

Mirenesse Power Lift Eye Mask*

I’ve really enjoyed using these eye masks and used them heaps in the lead up to the wedding. A little tip, put them in the fridge to de-puff the under eyes.

LÓreal Pure Clay Purifying Cream Wash*

Ben finished this up. Not my favourite cleanser from the trio. Here’s a review of all the LÓreal Pure Clay Cleansers.

  1. I’m the same, I stopped doing product empties posts on my blog, and have moved them over the Instagram. I think that’s a good way to present these type of posts! And plus, I never really have enough empties to make an interesting post haha.

  2. I love empties post and your brief reviews are so good. I love Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peels and they are so amazing, love the radiant skin after using them. Need to check For Beloved One brand.

  3. Oh wow, so interesting about the Zoella shower shake – I’ve heard others really like the scent! Now I want to smell it myself… haha! And agreed – Dove bar soap is the best! The only bar soap I’ve found that’s moisturising and doesn’t leave my skin feeling gross and tight.
