Hello lovelies,
I was a little late with this quarterly what I’ve been reading as I read quite a few duds. When I mentioned it to my friend she suggested I include the books I didn’t like as well. What do you think? Would you like me to mention the duds as well and explain why I didn’t like them?
Now onto the books I did like….
The Good Teacher- R.M Anderson
I was kindly gifted this by the lovely Sarah from @morethanadored. She asked me to be part of a blogging book club and I was like, why not? So having had no idea about this book my expectations were low. But after reading only a few pages I was hooked. The book literally jumps into the good stuff straight away. The story is based in a small country town and talks about community, family values, love and romance. It’s a great story line and while I know Sarah struggled at first with the changing perspectives, each chapter is told by a different character, I personally loved it. I thought it was done very well. So if you’re after an easy but compelling book please check this out.
Commonwealth- Ann Patchett
My lovely friend recommended this book. It’s an interesting story about two families merging together, think Brady Bunch but way more drama. I really enjoyed the story however was extremely disappointed by the ending. My friend had the same feelings, the story just ended abruptly.
Our Chemical Hearts- Krystal Sutherland
So I’m a little bias with this book as I know Krystal. We used work together back in the day when she was actually writing this book so it was pretty cray when the book finally came out like 5 years later. The book itself is targeted at young adults- so I’m a tad on the old side but still thoroughly enjoyed it. Krystal has a quirky sense of humour which translates beautifully in the book. The story line is not your typical young teen romance book. The story line is unique and really well written. If you’re like me (no longer young adult, more just adult) you’ll find this an easy read without being corny.
If you’ve read any amazing books please comment below. I’m on the hunt for some new reads x
Also, I would really appreciate if you gave my Facebook page a like, at rachel beauty style. Thank you xx
