Makeup of the Day: Hen’s Lunch

Hello lovelies,

You would have seen a couple of weeks ago I had my Hen’s lunch and of course I had to do a special makeup look for the day. For the outfit I found a beautiful blush toned playsuit and wanted to do gold/ rose gold eyes. Other than that the only other requirement was that my makeup had to last all day and night.

Also I wanted to do a quick before photo, just so you can see how amazing the coverage is. And its also so important to embrace and appreciate your natural skin.

Maybelline Super Stay Primer*

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation*

After wearing this foundation consistently for the last couple of weeks, I’m hooked and super impressed with its longevity. I’m even considering using this for my wedding- but more on that later. The only negative is it’s a bit orange so I need to try it with some other foundations to achieve the perfect shade combo.

Thin Lizzy Crémé Concealer*

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit- Light*

For special occasions I get my cream contour out and use the dark shades with my Real Techniques contour brush.

Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder*

Revlon X Chloe Morello Contour Kit- Medium*

To set the under eyes I use the banana shade, and for the contour I use the bronze and contour shades.

MAC Eyeshadow- Soft Brown

I applied this into my crease and lower lash line.

Gilded Cage Revelation Eyeshadow- Rose Gold 23*

These eyeshadows are impressive, so ridiculously long wearing. I applied to one eye at a time just to the lid so it wouldn’t set too quickly then buffed out the edges. You could stop here but I wanted a little extra oomph!

MAC Pigment- Star Dream

Sorry this is a limited edition pigment, but basically it’s a rose gold pigment. For some added shine, I applied some of the pigment onto a flat shader brush, applied a few spritz of MAC Fix + and patted it onto my eye. I then buffed out the edges using the same brush that I used to apply the Soft Brown.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Face Palette

I’m obsessed with this palette. I mix the two pink shades and apply to the apples of my cheeks.

Algenist Hydrating Setting Spray*

Of course I had to set my face and this is great because its not mattifying. After a few spritz, I then go back in with my highlighter and bang! Its so bright! I applied Prosecco Pop to the high points of my face and under my brow bone.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara*

I applied this mascara to top and bottom lashes. Since I was going to apply false lashes, I applied a bit of black eyeshadow to my top lashes.

Huda Beauty Samantha Lashes*

I was so excited to use these lashes for the first time. They are quite large and have a thick band but surprisingly easy to apply. Because it does have a thick band you can’t really do a natural lash look with these. I also used the Huda Beauty Lash Glue* and my lashes did budge all day or night.

Models Prefer Lip Liner in Nude* and NYX Lip Lingerie- Cabaret Show*

Firstly this Models Prefer Lip Liner is the best! So creamy and literally your lips but better. While I like to wear this on its own, because I wanted my lipstick to last I topped it with the NYX Lip Lingerie. This combo together was perfect! My lipstick did not budge all day! I only touched up once or twice throughout the day.

And of course, I had to show you the complete outfit! I changed the necklace last minute before heading out. I decided on wearing a necklace from Sheike & Co, Playsuit from Kookai and heels from Tony Bianco.
