Makeup of the Day: Weekend Glam With NYX Cosmetics

Hello beauties,

As I’ve been wearing makeup less frequently throughout the week so I tend to get a bit excited and love to wear some makeup, even if its just to go to the shops. I know, who am I? Anyway I created this look for a review of the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation* and loved the final look so much that I thought I would share all the products I used.

NYX

Maybelline Super Stay Primer*

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation*

I used 4 drops of the foundation and used the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Brush to buff it in. As you can see it is pretty full coverage. You really need to take your time to buff in the foundation to create a seamless base.

Thin Lizzy Crémé Concealer*

NYX #NoFilter Finishing Powder*

Another new product for me but I’ve been loving this powder. Its provides a bit of luminosity without making me oily. I would say this could be comparable to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, but with less luminosity.

Revlon X Chloe Morello Contour Kit*

I always use the yellow shade to set the under eye area and the bronze and contour shade to lightly contour.

NYX HD Blush- Bright Lights*

To stay with the NYX theme I applied a bit of blush to my cheeks. It’s a matte blush and very pigmented so less is more.

NYX Lid Lingerie*

I was so excited to try this palette! I’m so obsessed with matte eyeshadows and OMG this palette is beautifully pigmented and easy to blend. For the lid shade I mixed the pink and orange tone shade all over the lid. For the crease I used the orange tone and for the outercorner I applied a bit of the dark brown.

Algenist Hydrating Setting Spray*

I learnt this new tip, apply your setting spray then apply your highlighter, and bang! You’ll shine bright like a diamond! I actually quite like the setting spray but I haven’t talked about it too much as I want to give it a proper go in summer. But what I can say is, its not mattifying which is a nice change from most setting sprays.

Huda Beauty 3D Illuminating Palette*

I mixed the bronze and gold shade and applied to the high points of my cheeks.

Ardell Lashes- Baby Wispies*

I love the Baby Wispies. Adds a bit of volume making them perfect during the day. Don’t look too closely at the photos because I didn’t apply them as well as I normally do.

NYX Lip Lingerie- Cabaret Show*

I’ve tried one other Lip Lingerie in the past and wasn’t impressed. It literally crumbled off my lips. I was then gifted their new shade Cabaret Show so I thought I better give it another go. And honestly now I understand the hype. I might have just had a bad batch with my other one. But this one applies beautifully, not too drying and lasts really well. I ate quite a bit at yum cha and let me just say, I still had most of my lippie in place.

Also, here’s the final makeup and outfit look in case you’re interested x

  1. You make me want that skirt more and more, everytime I see it. Damn preggo belly! I love the Hydrating Mist, it is so nice. And I am also loving the NYX palette, so good for daily wear.
