Dupe Alert: Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel vs. Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme

Hello beauties,

You guys know my love for glycolic acid! Glycolic acid is the one skincare ingredient that makes my skin instantly radiant, hence why I love it so much. But I’m also a snob. I’m a loyal Alpha H Liquid Gold user and very rarely stray from it. But in the name of research I bring to you two new contenders. The high end Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel* and the drugstore Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme*. But who will be the winner?

Overall Thoughts about the Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel*

  • Retails for $83 AUD for 16 wipes
  • Contains 10% glycolic acid which is quite high
  • They come individually wrapped which is great as they won’t dry out and you can take them travelling. That’s the one thing I don’t like about Alpha H Liquid Gold, because its liquid I can’t take it travelling with me…
  • The wipes themselves are big! The largest I’ve seen, probably too big for just your face. Because they are so big and have loads of moisture I bring it all down my chest, just above my boobs and onto my hands
  • If you have back acne, I think these would be great to use on them
  • After once use my skin was instantly radiant! It cleared up my acne spots and scarring
  • I don’t tend to moisturise after using glycolic acid, however you can with this. Just let the residue from the wipes dry for about 3 minutes before applying any moisturiser
  • Because these are quite potent I will be using them every second night. If you have sensitive skin these could be too intense for you…

Overall Thoughts about the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme:

  • First off, I’ve done a review of the original Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Pads, here’s the link in case you want to check it out
  • The Night Pads Extreme retail for $34.95 for 60 pads
  • Contains 5% glycolic acid
  • The pads come pre-moistened in a pot. I was really concerned they would dry out over time but haven’t had any issues with this pot or my previous pot
  • The pads are the size of a normal cotton round but thinner and both sides are textured
  • The pad size and level of moisturiser is more than enough for my face, neck and hands
  • Because these pads have less glycolic acid the results aren’t as instant. Yes, the following day your skin looks better, but it’s not as effective as the Murad wipes
  • Also, because it’s not as potent I can use them every single night without any concern
  • If you have sensitive skin, I would recommend the original Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Pads, or even the cleanser as you get the benefits of Glycolic acid but can also wash it off

As you can see I didn’t find a dupe. They’re both really good products, but if I had to choose a favourite out of the two I would say the Murad wipes. Don’t get me wrong I think the Nip + Fab Extreme Pads are great and so affordable. Now the real question is, are the Murad wipes better than Alpha H Liquid Gold? I don’t know just yet, but I think it could be a close tie…

  1. A great find! Even if they aren’t an exact dupe it’d be good to try a more affordable, less intense version before shelling out the big bucks. Great post 🙂

  2. My skin is so temperamental with glycolic acid. I have yet to find one I can use with it regularly. Liquid gold irritated my skin like nobody’s business if I used it more than once a week. The original nib and fab wipes were the same for me. I’m curious about the Murad ones though! I loved their Vit C peel and I’m usually the same with Vit C so maybe I’d have more luck there haha

  3. I love Alpha H Liquid Gold!! I bought a couple of bottles when Adore Beauty had them on sale. I have tried the Nip + Fab pads and I really like them, as well as the Go-To range’s version and also the Dennis Gross version. It’s great there is so much out at the moment! Murad’s also look great.

  4. Liquid Gold is definitely one of my faves – I really notice results using it. I’ve tried the normal version of the Nip and Fab pads and I didn’t really like them to be honest. The Extreme ones sound a bit more promising though. Wow those Murad ones sound intense! I do not think I could every justify dropping that amount of cash on such a small amount of pads though 😛
