Hello lovelies,
Jurlique recently launched three face oils to suit various skin types. All their face oils retail for $69 AUD for 50ml, which is a lot of product! Personally I don’t know how I’m going to get through it all.
Jurlique Purely Age- Defying Firming Face Oil
This face oil is targeted at anti aging. As this is not a concern for me (yet) I haven’t tried this face oil and can’t comment on its effectiveness.
Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil*
This face oil is targeted at skin that suffers from dryness, dehydration and uneven skin texture, leaving it looking fresh, supple and dewy. When I first read the name of the face oil I thought it was targeted at oily/combination skin. Well I was wrong. I find this face oil quite slippy and doesn’t fully sink into the skin. As you would have seen on Insta Stories I looked a bit oily when I used this in the evening and I only apply 2 drops. Not a negative, as when I wake up my skin is left feeling hydrated. Because there is a bit of oily residue remaining you have to wash your face in the morning. With this face oil you can apply it morning and night. As an oily gal I just apply it at night. If you have dry or dehydrated skin you could use it during the day, but I would only recommend 1 drop. A little of this face oil really does go a long way.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Face Oil*
This face oil deeply moistures skin with revitalising antioxidants, targeting first signs of ageing. Addressing dullness, fine lines and dryness, it restores your skin’s natural vitality. This is a great face oil for gals like myself that want to target the early signs of ageing. No harsh chemicals and its targeted at hydrating the skin using quality ingredients. With this face oil I feel it has quite a thick texture, but not heavy. I apply 2 drops all over my face and it feels like an added layer of moisturiser because it’s so hydrating. While it is a face oil it doesn’t feel oily like the Skin Balancing Face Oil. Personally I prefer this face oil over the Skin Balancing Face Oil. I’ve also been applying 1 drop in the morning on my way to the gym and it hasn’t broken me out and provides enough moisture to hydrate my skin.
With these face oils you get a lot of product for $69 and you only need 2 drops so you’ll be having this bottle for a LONG time! I find these face oils are really hydrating during the colder months but personally I think I’ll find them a bit heavy on the skin during the warmer months. The only negative about these face oils is the name of the oils. It’s really hard to differentiate between the different options, and packaging wise it’s hard to tell which oil I’m using. To be fair most people won’t have all the face oils in their cabinet. But I know for myself I thought I was using the Antioxidant Face Oil for a month to then only realise it was the Skin Balancing Face Oil. Silly Rachel.

These oils both sound divine! Despite my oily skin, I’m a sucker for oils and slather them on morning and night haha! Couldn’t live without them. I just managed to finish a 50mL bottle of Rosehip oil and you’re right – it lasted foreeever haha.

I feel like I can only use oils in winter. I dont love the thicker sensation on my skin so at least in winter they absorb quicker.

Given my oily-T It would be the Antioxidant Face Oil for me. I haven’t used any Jurlique products for ages other than their Rosewater Balancing Mist which I love, and their hand creams have always been a fave — thanks for the reminder Rachel! xxx
