Health and Fitness Update: May 2017

Hello lovelies,

If you follow me on Insta stories you would have been bombarded by all my fitness photos. Disclaimer, I only post fitness photos when I think I look good and as a motivation to show I’m actually at the gym.

Over the past couple of months I’ve gone through phases of being motivated and unmotivated. I find it hard to always consistently be motivated to be fit and I’m ok with that. I enjoy my naughty days, probably a bit too frequently but in the end I still want to enjoy my life.

Since my last fitness update, I haven’t lost much weight but I know I’m so much fitter. My personal trainer has even commented on how much I’ve improved, mainly my core strength. So what’s changed?


Kayla Itsines 12 Week Bikini Body Program

My girlfriend gave me the 12 Week Bikini Body Program years ago and I never touched it. As I’ve become complacent with my fitness I decided to give it a go as I needed to do something new.

I have the old fashion e-book which I prefer as I take one sheet of paper with me each day but the program is now available as paid app. The program targets all areas of the body and rotates between; legs and cardio, arms and abs and finishes off with a whole body work out.

I don’t follow the program to a T. I tend to do it once to twice a week, so it’s taking me longer than 12 weeks. I’m up to week 8, but I think I’ve been doing it for a lot longer. If I find an exercise to be too intense I do a modified version that I know I’m capable of doing.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed that my core is a lot stronger and my arms a lot more defined. For me this program has pushed me to do all the exercises I dislike. I love that it gradually builds up in intensity and if it’s too much you can do a modified version.

While I’m not a fan of Kayla personally- you can read up on her on the internet, I love the simplicity of the program. I love that its pushed me to do ab and arm work and the results are evident!

So while I haven’t lost any weight, I know I’m more toned and I’m feeling so much fit! Let me know if you’ve done Kayla, I would love to hear your thoughts xx
