We’ve all seen sheet masks popping up left, right and centre. And one brand that continually seems to be bringing out new and even more amazing sheet masks is, Skin Republic. Skin Republic is a drugstore skincare brand that specialises in sheet masks. Here’s a few of the masks I’ve tried and my thoughts.
My first introduction to the brand was with their under eye patches. And let me just say it was love at first use! They were easy to apply, you had some time to move them, cooling on the eyes and overall it was a no fuss product. After taking off the eye masks, I noticed my under eye area was not as puffy, more hydrated but without having too much liquid. I think these are best used before an event, and because they don’t have too much residue you can apply makeup on top of it.
While anti-ageing isn’t a big concern for me, I wanted to give this mask a go. I found the mask had loads of liquid, but easy enough to apply. After removing the mask I found there was a lot of liquid on my face which I massage into my face and neck. The next morning I had a lot of residue still left over, but my skin was feeling more hydrated.
This is a new mask for Skin Republic, and the one I was most excited to try. In the skincare world, charcoal is being used extensively for its purifying properties. But what’s truly unique is that its in a sheet mask! To start, you have to warm the mask using your hands while its still in the packaging. This activates the bubbles. Then once you apply, throughout the 15 minutes more and more bubbles are activated. Quite fun actually! After removing the mask, you rinse off the residue. I found that the next morning a few spots had popped up, so it definitely purifies. Really like this mask, highly recommend.
This mask is a bit different to the others, in that it comes in two pieces. Imagine a sheet mask cut in half. In theory it should be easier to apply, but I seemed to struggle with the top half but it could be because there was loads of serum, so it was quite slippy. It had so much serum that the mask would slowly slip down my face. Also this sheet masks wasn’t the typical sheet material, but more like a silicon texture which I felt helped lock in the moisture. With this mask I left it on for about 30 minutes or longer as was recommended. I then massaged the remaining serum into my skin which had a tacky, moisturising feeling. The following morning my skin was definitely more hydrated and felt more plump.
Overall really impressed with the quality of these masks considering how cheap they are. My favourite are still the under eye patches. Make sure to check out Skin Republic at Priceline or selected pharmacies.
