As you would have seen on Instagram there are so many amazing new products from Maybelline. I’ve given them all a go, and have created the following look. Overall I’ve been really impressed with the quality of all the products and will share my thoughts below.
Maybelline Superstay 24HR Primer*
The packaging is very similar to the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer. The primer itself is very different. Its a very liquidy primer that is meant to prolong the wear of your makeup. Well let me just say it works! Its an awesome long wearing primer and works well with a variety of foundations. This is already available in Australia and retails for $15.95.
Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation- 48 Sun Beige*
I’m late onto the cushion foundation trend, mainly because my foundation shade is not available here. To apply this foundation I decided to use a kabuki brush and buffed the foundation onto my face. I found that a little of this product goes a long way and provides medium to full coverage. I love the look and finish of this foundation and find it to be quite long lasting. This shade is the darkest available in Australia, however a tad light for me.
I also asked my friend to try it and she has dry/ combination skin and she loved it and she honestly looked amazing with it on. This is already available in Australia in six shades for $26.95.
Maybelline Brow Precise- Deep Brown*
This is an oldie, but I hadn’t tried it until now. I like that this eyebrow pencil also has a spooly on the other side. The pencil has a soft texture but still controllable. I liked this pencil but didn’t love it as I felt it made my eyebrows were a bit more bolder than I like. Then again I’m used to filling in my brows with a shadow, not a pencil. This retails for $11.95 in Australia.
Maybelline The Rock Nudes Palette*
Maybelline has expanded their Nudes Palette range, with their latest addition, The Rock Nudes. The Rock Nudes features darker, rock chick shades, such as purples, greys, blues and blacks. To create the below look, I used the matte grey shade in the crease and applied the blue metallic shade on the lid. To darken the outer corner I applied a bit of the matte brown. To be honest, I found the matte shades really pigmented and easy to blend. The metallic blue disappointed me as it was gorgeous in the palette but didn’t translate onto the eyes well. As you can see below, the lids look more grey then blue. However in real life you can definitely notice it has a blue tinge. Also there was minimal fall out from the shadows, which is impressive for a drugstore palette.
This is meant to be available now in Australia, however I haven’t seen it in stores. This palette will retail for $25.95 like the rest of the Nudes Palettes.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara*
A new release mascara from Maybelline that contains, Argan Oil and Rosefruit Oil to leave your lashes feeling nourished. I found that it was quite liquidy which made my lashes stick together. The brush is a great shape which allows you to coat each lash but overall not impressed with the mascara, its too liquidy. I’ll continue to use and see if it gets better over time. This is already available in Australia for $21.95.
Maybelline Color Jolt Lip Paint*
These Lip Paints are gorgeous. So pigmented, easy to apply and has a nice subtle glossy finish. These come in 8 shades, ranging from your pinks and nudes to your bold reds and purples. These are already available in Australia for $14.95.
Maybelline Loaded Bold Lipstick*
As a lipstick junkie I got super excited about these new lipsticks! The Loaded Bold lipsticks feature bold colours such as purples and reds. These are hitting Australia in June at $17.95 each.
Overall I was really impressed with the quality of the products. My must haves would be; the primer, the cushion foundation, color jolt lip paints and the bolded lipsticks.
