Guide to Red Lipsticks

Hello beauties,

You all know my weakness for red lipsticks. With my obsession with red lipsticks, I think I’m close to an expert on the subject. With that being said, I wanted to share some of my faves so that you have a few options when Valentine’s Day comes around xx

Maybelline Color Drama in Fab Orange

Great dupe for the NARS Velvet Lip Pencils. They’re creamy, great pigmentation and lasting power. Did I say that they’re only $9.95? I also think the shade Fab Orange is a close dupe for MAC Lady Danger, but not as matte.

MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger

I think this would easily of been my favourite lipstick of 2016! I love that its an orangey red that makes any outfit look glam! Because its matte, its really long lasting but also a little drying.

Rimmel X Kate Moss Anniversery Lipstick in Muse Red*

The Rimmel X Kate Moss Lipsticks have to be one of the best lipsticks in the drugstore. I love this range because its hydrating, great pigmentation and lasts pretty well for a creamy lipstick.

Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips in 05*

This is one of my favourite drugstore liquid lipsticks. Quite matte and lasts really well when eating and drying. The only downside comes when trying to reapply as its a bit crumbly.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Redrum

These liquid lipsticks have to be one of my faves on the market! Great lasting power and not too drying. However I think the wear and pigmentation does vary depending on the shade.

MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

I finally did it! I purchased Ruby Woo and have no regrets. I also purchased the lip liner and I must say the lipstick applies much better when you have the lip liner as a base. Below I’m not wearing the lip liner and it was difficult to apply as its quite drying and had a tugging effect. Excluding that, the lipstick itself is beautiful and lasts pretty much all day!

Sephora Lip Cream in 01 Always Red

I think the Sephora Lip Cream are a good dupe for the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks. It doesn’t last as long as the Jeffree Star ones but its pretty close. They’ve also expanding the shade selection, so I’m dying to try more from the Sephora Collection!

  1. All of these look so hot on you Rachel – LOVE red lipsticks and there are so many fabulous ones around, and I love all your choices, I think my favourite is L’Oreal Color Riche Moisture Matte Bloody Mary, but that may change any day soon ha ha!

  2. All of these look great on you Rachel! I envy anyone who can wear orange-red as sadly it’s not suitable for my skin tone. Then again, some people can’t pull off blue-based red & I can, so I guess it’s a case of being thankful for what you’ve got. I don’t tend to wear red often as I either feel like it’s TOO striking for me or simply can’t be bothered with the effort, but I always feel a bit more elegant/vampy/classy when I do.
