Moisturisers on Rotation

Hey beauties,

Are you like me and extremely fussy with face moisturisers? I always struggle to find a moisturiser I love, but turns out when it rains it pours! And now I have four favourites that I wanted to share with you. Disclaimer; I have oily to combination skin.

Antipodes Manuka Honey Skin Brightening Light Day Cream*

When I was going through my organic skincare phase, this was my go to. I love that its light weight, but still creamy and hydrating, without making me oily. I used this morning and night and found that my skin had a good amount of hydration. At night, I did add a few drops of facial oil for a boost of hydration. If you’re interested in organic skincare, or want a moisturiser that’s light and still rich than the Antipodes Day Cream is a must!

Skinstitut Moisture Defence Ultra Dry*

This moisturiser is targeted at dry skin, so I didn’t expect it to work for me. However it worked great with my oily/ combination skin! I use about a pea size in the morning and a bit more in the evening. I was also really surprised that even though this was a rich moisturiser targeted at dry skin, it didn’t make me oily throughout the day. I think this moisturiser would suit all skin types except extremely oily. Skinstitut also have the same moisturiser but targeted at oily skin, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Ultraceuticals Ultra Hydrating Lotion*

Even though I have oily skin and lotions are more suited to my skin as they’re more light weight, I’m never drawn to them. With the Ultraceuticals Lotion, it’s a thin light weight consistency and smells divine! I’m actually surprised how much I’ve been enjoying this as the weather has been heating up. With the Lotion you can use this morning and night and it provides the perfect amount of hydration. If you have oily or combination skin that this is a winner!

Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Hydrating*

Now this is a unique product, because it’s a moisturiser and SPF. At first I didn’t read the instructions and thought I still had to apply moisturiser beforehand. Even with moisturiser on underneath this, it didn’t make me oily at all! I love that this moisturiser is thin, light weight and doesn’t provide a white cast. Even though I have oily combination skin, the Hydrating Moisturiser still worked well, however there is also a Mattifying one which I’m due to try soon.

As you can see there’s quite a theme with my preferences… I like light weight, but still rich in hydration. All of these moisturiser meet me needs, and better yet most can be used morning and night.

  1. i have oily skin too and i struggle to find a good moisturizer that does not make me look greasy . i haven’t tried anyone of these and the first one really caught my eye !

  2. So strange about the Skinstitut moisturiser! As soon as I saw it was for ‘Ultra Dry’ u thought, why on Earth is she using it? But it’s all trial and error! See, on the other hand I have their oily skin moisturiser and I’m not that fond of it. I have oily combo skin to!
