Hello Beauties,
We all know we have to use sunscreen every day to preserve our skin and to make sure we don’t get any skin cancers. But to be honest, I never used to wear sunscreen every day and have only recently been wearing sunscreen on a daily basis as I’ve started using Retinol. The main reason I didn’t wear sunscreen was because it made my skin oily, however I’ve found a few options that are fantastic to use under makeup for all skin types.
MyChelle Sun Shield SPF28 Unscented
This is my all time favourite sunscreen as its natural and mattifying! Whenever I’m going to be in the sun all day then this is a must for me as it keeps my skin mattified. If you have oily skin or are interested in purchasing a good quality natural sunscreen then MyChelle is the one for you.
Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Hydrating*
As I have oily/ combination skin I thought this Hydrating Sunscreen wouldn’t work for me but oh how I was wrong. While this is a hydrating moisturiser and sunscreen it did not make me oily, winning! I love that this sunscreen as its really thin and light weight, so even though I’ve layered on multiple skincare products my skin doesn’t feel clogged up. This sunscreen would suit all skin types, except really oily. To be honest, I’ve been using this on top of moisturiser as opposed to a moisturiser with SPF and even with the extra layer of moisturiser it still doesn’t make me oily.
Skinstitut Age Defence SPF 50+ *
This sunscreen is waterproof which also means its sweat proof, making it the perfect summer sunscreen. This is the thickest sunscreen out of the lot. Personally, I find it too thick and rich to use on my oily combination skin, under makeup. However I would happily use this if I was going to be out in the sun all day, not wearing makeup. Under makeup, I found it created a slight white cast on my dark skin and also made me a tad oily throughout the day. If you have dry skin than this is the perfect sunscreen for you as its hydrating and rich on the skin.

Love the sound of the Ultraceuticals sunscreen, as it’s lightweight and would suit my oily/combination skin type, same as yours. I really need to become more diligent with sunscreen!

Don’t worry, its taken me long enough to get into a routine. I think that’s why I love the Ultraceuticals one, because its a moisturiser and SPF in one so its not like I need to add an extra layer…

I’m interested in the ultraceuticals as well! But I just got gifted an O Cosmedics sunscreen that I’m keen to start using to see if it works with my skin. I’m like you, oily combo skin means I tend to stray away from SPF.

Try the O Cosmedics one and if you don’t like it try the Ultraceuticals one. I know its pricey, but honestly it feels so lovely on the skin, its not an added step and doesn’t make me greasy. I’ve also just started using their Mattifying one which is even better in summer!

Ohhhh with this crazy weather, sunscreen is a must!
I accidentally got a little sunburnt the other day and I was so annoyed with myself! I did have sunscreen on, I just forgot to re-apply… BOO!!!
At the moment I’m loving the La Roche-Posay sunscreen though… it works a charm, especially when I use it properly! :p

I’ve never been happy with drugstore ones, they always make me greasy but that could be because I have oily skin..
