Hello beauties,
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is a beauty cult favourite and a big favourite of mine. What’s interesting is the Lancome Advanced Génifique* is also a cult favourite amongst beauty bloggers, so much so that they have two serums in the range; one to target brightening and this one is more targeted at anti-aging. But what’s the difference between the two, they seem so similar…
What Estee Lauder says about the Advanced Night Repair Serum, “reveal a smoother, more radiant, younger look. Wake up to more beautiful skin every day. Tested and proven: Advanced Night Repair dramatically reduces the look of all key signs of ageing.”
Overall Thoughts on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum:
- $95 for 30ml
- Easy to use dropper
- The texture is a little gluggy and thick, not too watery
- No distinct smell
- Absorbs nicely into the skin and a perfect base for my evening moisturiser
- I find this adds the perfect amount of hydration and improves the overall look and feel of my skin
- I haven’t noticed the anti-ageing benefits as I’m only 26…..
What Lancome says about the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Serum*, “New Advanced Génifique helps restore youthfulness by improving the appearance of 10 clinical signs that define a youthful-looking skin.Encapsulating biotechnology derived ingredients, its new patented formula feels incredible to the touch. See and feel the results. Benefits: Smoothes Fine Lines and Deep Wrinkles, Boosts Radiance, Clarifies and Evens Skin Tone, Improves Skin Texture, Increases Elasticity and Tonicity, Firms Skin, Hydrates.”
Overall Thoughts on the Lancome Advanced Génifique Serum:
- $97 for 30ml
- Easy to use dropper, but harder to close as its glass and when you have serum on your hands it’s a bit slip and slidy..
- The texture is thinner than the Estee Lauder serum, and is somewhat gel like
- Has a faint smell of luxury products, you know what I mean?
- Absorbs quickly into the skin and works well under moisturiser
- The following morning I feel my skin looks and feels more hydrated but I wouldn’t say it clarifies or evens out my skin tone
- I also haven’t noticed the effects of its anti aging properties but I’m only in my 20s.
In summary, you can see they are quite similar. Personally, I prefer the Estee Lauder serum, but I think it’s because I like the thicker texture and I’ve been using it for longer. I think the Lancome serum is great, better if you have oily skin or want something more light weight. If you have dry skin or like serums that are a bit heavier than the Estee Lauder serum is the one to get.
Hope you enjoyed the comparison xx

I love Advanced Genefique, though I haven’t tried ANR. My Mum swears by it – I should steal some of hers LOL.

I love the advanced genifique!! I tried advanced night repair before it clogged the hell out of my pores , i have combination skin i think its because of the weather here in Thailand is too humid and advanced night repair is too heavy for my skin.

Interesting, I didn’t think about it that way. But yes, the weather would definitely affect your skin x

Most interesting Rachel – I’ve tried both, but I prefer the EL one for my particular issues, even though I have an oily-T. Somehow it feels more comfortable and nourishing on my skin. For older gals like me, the Lancome Visionnaire is even better – I must buy another bottle as my pores are starting to expand again ouch!

I prefer the Estee Lauder one too. Just a personal preference. I always pick up a bottle duty free x

Can these 2 products be used together? First the lancome then the estee?

I don’t see why not as you can layer most serums or maybe use one in the morning and one in the night x
