Today I bring you Skinstitut! Skinstitut is an Australian cosmedical skincare brand focused on delivering effective skincare products at affordable prices. But what does Cosmedical skincare mean? Cosmedical skincare is the most effective range of skin care products that can be purchased without a prescription. Pretty awesome, right?
I’ve seen Skinstitut on the market for quite some time and have always wanted to try their Glycolic Cleanser, but you know me, I always have so many backups that it takes me a while to try new products. But finally I’ve tried the Glycolic Cleanser and so much more, so here’s my thoughts on the range!
You know I’m a big lover of Glycolic Acid! I love Glycolic Acid as it’s a chemical exfoliant that leaves you with clearer, brighter skin. If you have sensitive skin then trying out Glycolic Acid in a cleanser is the best way as it’s not on your skin for long, but you still get the great results. With the cleanser I don’t like the feel of it, feels a bit plasticky if that makes sense and it smells like Tea Tree Oil (which is great for its anti-bacterial properties). While I personally don’t like the feel and smell of the product, the results are amazing! After one use my skin was noticeably brighter. I use about a pea size each night for my second cleanse, sometimes with my Clarisonic Mia FIT. I’ve just finished this cleanser and I’m devastated! I’m going to have to pick up another one, because it’s so good!
I didn’t expect too much from this cleanser, but how wrong was I! This is a beautiful gel cleanser that smells like green apples, but I think its actually the goji berries in the cleanser. You only need a little bit of cleanser to get an effective cleanse, about a pea size. The cleanser foams up really well and foams up like crazy with the Clarisonic Mia FIT. I was really impressed with this cleanser and think it would be suitable for all skin types.
I don’t typically use physical exfoliants- just a personal preference. With this scrub I do find it a bit too abrasive, but that’s because I’m not used to using physical exfoliants anymore. While this isn’t a favourite of mine, Bae loves this!
This is a chemical peel face mask. The instructions to say to leave the peel on for 5 to 15 minutes. If you have sensitive skin leave it on for a short period of time. I have pretty hard core skin, I don’t typically feel tingly and I don’t go red. The first time I used this, after a short period of time there was definitely a tingle, not painful but it was there. The first time I used it I didn’t notice much change to my skin, but over multiple uses my skin does look more clear and I don’t feel the tingle.
You know me, I love a good face mist and this does not disappoint.
This is a moisturiser targeted for dry skin. I don’t have dry skin, however I found that a little bit of this goes a long way. Even though it’s a really hydrating moisturiser it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy and works well under makeup. The only downer is, there’s no SPF. Personally I really like this moisturiser and love how hydrating this is.
Now this product confused me. I thought it was an evening moisturiser but it’s not. The best way to describe it, is an intense hydrating balm that can be used on your face or body (well I’ve been using it on my body). It’s weird light green colour but blends to be transparent. When you blend it in, its goes into a more oily/ balmy texture, hence the name; Repair Balm. While I was confused by this product, I like it as a night moisturiser and love using it on any dry patches of skin. I think this is a bit heavy to be used as a moisturiser for oily skin, however if you have dry skin you will love this!
Apologies for the lengthy post but I wanted to really showcase all the products. I’ve honestly loved using all the products and want to try more from the range, especially the Retinol for its anti-aging properties. Skinstiut is available from speciality beauty salons such as Laser Clinics. They’re also available from selected online retailers; ActiveSkin and Adore Beauty.
