Hello beauties,
With the warmer weather finally here in the Southern Hemisphere I thought I’d talk about Makeup Setting Sprays. I’ve been experimenting with a few Setting Sprays over the past couple of months, but do they work?
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
Let’s start off with the cult favourite, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This is made by the original makers of the Setting Spray, Skindinavia so you know it’s gonna be good! Personally I find the mist a bit heavy and wet, but I could have a dodgie spray nozzle… In regards to the product it works well with keeping my makeup looking fresh but there comes a point where my natural oils still show through. I really like this product, but it’s not a holy grail. Personally I find I can get makeup to last all day when I prime and set my makeup well.
Lóreal Infallible Setting Spray
This is new to the drugstore and I did a review when it first hit the US shores, click here for a full review. I was so excited about this launch but really disappointed when I started using it. Personally I found that it made me oiler and definitely didn’t keep my makeup on all day. I also found that the Australian version in the white bottle leaves a white powdery residue on the face. Not a fan for its setting capabilities, but I do like it to minimise the powdery effect.
This is not a setting spray, it does not pro long the wear of foundation. I thought I would still mention it, as MAC Fix + commonly gets mistaken for a setting spray. I like to use MAC Fix + to minimise the powdery effect of my makeup and settle my makeup. I also like to use it to intensify the pigments of my eyeshadows to create a foiled effect.
I know some of the claims I’ve made are quite extreme and will definitely cause a stir. I know both the Urban Decay and Lóreal Setting Sprays have cult followings, but personally they aren’t essentials for me. Comment below if you’re a fan of Setting Sprays and what’s your fave?

I love setting sprays and All-Nighter is my Holy Grail! Bummer that the L’Oreal spray didn’t work.

I personally do not use a setting spray, but I have heard great things about all of these! All different price points as well. Something for everyone. Great review

I’m not the biggest fan of setting sprays. I don’t see the added value, but that could be just me…

I love Fix+ and he’s my baby. When I do full face makeup, most of the time I feel like my face is powdery and this baby helps me every time. I would give everything for this product. ❤

I’ve only just started exploring setting sprays Rachel – I have the Innoxa one and it is surprisingly good, considering how oily my t-zone is xxx
