3 Skincare Trends Worth The Hype

Hello beauties,

At the Priceline Beauty Prescription event, Sarah @faceofsjw and I were talking about the latest trends in skincare. But trends come and go, so I wanted to share what trends are here, why you need to get on the bandwagon and what products are worth the hype!

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid has been a buzz word for the past 2 years, focusing on retaining moisture into the skin. Because Hyaluronic acid adds and retains moisture into the skin it’s also considered a key ingredient in anti-aging products. Products with Hyaluronic acid are a must for me especially in winter, however you can use it all year round. My favourite skincare products that contain Hyaluronic acid include; Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron, Neutrogena Hydro Boost and For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Serum*.

Dragons Blood

Dragon Blood is the rich red sap of the Croton Lecheri Tree which is found in the Amazon rainforest. It’s called Dragon’s Blood because when the bark is cut the sap oozes red. Dragons Blood is a key ingredient used in anti-ageing products as it plumps the skin therefore minimising the signs of wrinkles. While I’m quite young and don’t have wrinkles, I noticed my skin was visibly more hydrated, plump and clearer when using the Skin Physics Dragons Blood range and the Skin Therapy Dragon’s Blood Serum*.

Manuka Honey

I’m a bit new on the Manuka Honey bandwagon, but I’ve been loving it! Manuka Honey is known for its antibacterial and healing properties and is known to improve the overall texture, tone and feel of your skin. I’ve been using the Swisse Manuka Honey Face Mask which is great at drawing out the oils without drying out my skin. I’ve also recently been using the Antipodes Manuka Honey Skin Brightening Eye and Day Cream*. I’ve been loving these products as it leaves my skin feeling hydrated without making me oily. Also another new Manuka Honey range for me, is the Manuka Doctor Drops of Crystal* range. With the Manuka Doctor range it contains Manuka Honey and Bee Venom which also gives a plumping effect, reducing the appearance of fine lines.
