Brand Focus: Marc Jacobs Beauty

Hello beauties,

I was first introduced to Marc Jacobs Beauty when I was in New York 2 years and had the amazing experience of checking out their stores on Bleaker Street! Their products are so beautiful but I’ve always been overwhelmed by the choice and if I’m honest the price as well… But lucky for me I was given the opportunity to trial a few things from the range, thanks to Sephora Australia the exclusive stockist of Marc Jacobs Beauty.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Créme Lipstick*

I received the most beautiful, perfect 90s lipstick in J Adore 230 from the Sephora Showcase. This is a creamy texture without being too slippy on the lips. The lipstick bullet shape is rounded as opposed to a point which makes it a little difficult to apply, so use a lip liner. Personally I love this colour, I think it’s the perfect nude on my skin but would also look gorgeous on fairer skin tones. Below I’m wearing the lipstick on my lips.

Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo*

These gorgeous blushes have already been released in the states for $USD42 with no confirmed date for Australia. The rumour is they’ll be launched just in time for the holidays. They’re not your traditional blush as they contain 2 shades. One is lighter to highlight and one is darker to contour. Using a blush brush I mix them together and apply directly to the face to create a natural flushed effect. They contain minimal shimmer so if you want some glow you’ll need to add a highlight. As you can see below, the blush is quite subtle but buildable.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Oil-Free Foundation

I picked up this sample after hearing really awesome reviews. The colour match is spot on for me! There’s also plenty of shades to choose from so I’m sure you’ll be able to find a match. The coverage is medium but buildable, with a satin finish. The first photo was when I first applied it at 6am, hence the terrible lighting… The second photo is after a couple of hours, no touch ups. I did get oily, however the foundation didn’t move. With a bit of blotting paper and powder I think the foundation would last a lot longer. At this stage I want to keep trying out this foundation before purchasing, however I do really like the finish and coverage.

Overall I’m really impressed with the quality of the products I’ve tried from the Marc Jacobs range. Heads up, there is currently a shortage of Marc Jacobs Beauty worldwide so if you’re interested in trialling anything get in fast or you’ll have to wait. Marc Jacobs Beauty is available from Sephora and Sephora online.

I’ve also just launched a Facebook page @rachelbeautystyle and would really appreciated if you give me a like! Thanks R x

    1. I know what you mean! I think you need to be really selective when deciding on a luxury purchase. I think the foundation is going to be worth the money but I need to keep trying it out before investing x

  1. Looking flawless Rach! Love how the foundation looks on you. I personally wouldn’t buy Marc Jacobs due to price tag, but loving the PR samples I have received x
