The hunt for the perfect nude lipstick seems like an impossible task. But I’m finally onto some winners and wanted to share my tips along the way.
Cool Tone Nude Lipsticks
Cool tone lipsticks always seem lighter to me, with blue, white and grey undertones. Typically I don’t wear cool tone nudes as I find they are too light for my skin tone but sometimes cool tone nudes a perfect! MAC Fresh Brew is my go to, but other alternatives would be Dose of Colours Stone, Jeffree Star Posh Spice and Rimmel Nude Lipstick in 45.
Neutral Tone Nude Lipsticks
Neutral tone nudes are not quite cool, but not quite warm. Jeffree Star liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin looks quite cool but one applied and dried it goes a bit warm, with the finished look being a neutral nude.
Warm Tone Nude Lipsticks
I tend to lean towards warm tone nudes as they compliment my skin tone better. Warm tone nudes a true browns and may have orange undertones. Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in 1995 is the perfect 90s nude lipstick. Alternatively MAC Velvet Teddy (too light on my skin tone).
Pink Nude Lipsticks
You can’t go wrong with a pinky nude, they’re universally flattering. Some of my faves are Lóreal Colour Riche in 649 and MAC Brave lipstick.
Mauve Nude Lipsticks
On my darker skin tone mauve nudes are more suited than pinky nudes. Mauve nudes are a darker pink shade with a hint of purple. Some of my faves are Kat Von D Lolita (a universal flattering shade on all skin tones), MAC Twig lipstick, Colour Pop Tulle and Jeffree Star Androgyny.
Nude Lip Gloss
Nude lip glosses are a must for all gals! Its best to find one that’s neutral so you can wear it alone or on top of lipsticks like the Lanolips Nude Lipbalm*. The Lanolips one is great because its not just a lip gloss, its a lip balm and quite hydrating on the lips. Some of my other favourite nude lip glosses include; NYX Butter Gloss in Tirimusi* and Sephora lip glosses.
