Hi Beauties,
Have you ever been in the position where you buy a lipstick then go home and realise you own a shade that’s practically the same colour? Or have you been in the situation where you really want a lipstick but you can’t get it in Australia or its too expensive? Well today I hope I can solve all your problems by sharing some dupes I’ve found along the way. Not all are exact matches or cheaper but will still help you get a similar colour or finish.
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte $47 vs. Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107 $12.95
The Rimmel lipstick is more matte, however still creamy.

MAC Lipstick in Rebel $36 vs. Milani Colour Statement Lipstick in 21 Sangria $13
MAC Rebel is one of my all time favourite lipsticks so its no surprise that when I saw the Milani lipstick I picked it up too! The Milani lipstick is a lot more drier to apply however the colour and finish are almost identical.

MAC Lipstick Lady Danger $36 vs. Maybelline Color Drama in Fab Orange $9.95
MAC Lady Danger is actually quite matte, however appears shiny in the photo below. Colour wise these are both identical but finish wise the Maybelline Color Drama has a bit more a sheen.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita $30 vs. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie $39
Everyone is so obsessed with Lolita and I understand why, its the perfect universal nude lipstick. I found that the NARS lip pencil in Walkyrie was very similar in colour but has more of a creamy matte finish.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Redrum $29 vs. Lime Crime Velvetines in Red Velvet $20USD
Personally I find the colour, finish and staying power of these lipsticks to be identical. The Velvetines looks a bit more shiny as it was still drying when I took the photo.

All of those look great on you Rachel, especially the orange lipsticks, wow! I envy anyone who can pull that shade off since I haven’t got the skin tone for it (I’m fair & cool-toned).

Thanks Shell! I’m quite lucky to be able to pull off most colours. Except nude lipsticks are such a pain for me to find. I guess we can’t have it all xx

What a helpful post! I’ve been wanting MAC Lady Danger, but now I know Maybelline Fab Orange from the Color Drama range looks pretty much identical. Awesome news! 🙂

Glad I could save you some dollars! It’s such an awesome colour. The Maybelline one has more of a glossy finish.
