Review: Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip

Hello beauties,

I caved! I’m such a sucker for liquid lipstick that I finally purchased two Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lips.

The Colour Pop range is sold exclusively on their website and annoyingly we have to pay international shipping… Each Ultra Matte Lip is $6 USD and for my purchase of 2 Ultra Matte Lips and shipping it came to about $30 AUD, so not too bad.

Overall Thoughts:

  • Easy to apply, no lip liner required
  • Great colour selection
  • Pigmentation is amazing, not streaky at all to apply
  • Drying on the lips, but nothing a bit of lip balm can’t help you with
  • Extremely long lasting

As you would all know I’m a big fan of the Kat Von D and Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. I find the Colour Pop ones comparable for quality, the only negative is the drying effect on the lips but its honestly not that bad. I also think the shade Limbo is a dupe for Jeffree Star Dominatrix (not that I own it) and Tulle is a darker version of Kat Von D Lolita but a slightly lighter version of Jeffree Star Androgyny. Overall I’m really impressed with these lipsticks and will definitely be purchasing more shades in the future.

Also please note this will be my last blog post for 2015! I’m off on holidays to India where I will have no internet access (bye bye social media). Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I’ll be back on the 5th January with my 2015 beauty favourites. Love you lots, Rachel xx

  1. I am wearing Color Pop’s liquid to matte in Clueless for the first time today and absolutely loving it. Yes, definitely drying but the colour, the texture and the longwear . . . I’m willing to deal! Have a great trip to India!

  2. I’ve been interested in Colourpop for a while, but the shipping cost is kinda holding me back. Nice review. Colours suit you well. They will probs be too drying for me, so I might try JeffreeStar instead

    1. The shipping costs weren’t too bad. Even when I buy Jeffree Star I have to pay shipping. I just bought a Jeffree Star lippie the other day and with the shipping it ended up being $40! But hopefully you can find some free shipping codes or something xx

  3. Nice one Rachel! I have one of their Lippie Stix and it’s brilliant – but I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for shipping. Too bad as they seem to make great products (love their eye shadows too). You look especially gorgeous in these colours ♥
