Hello beauties,
Today I bring to you my review of the cult favourite, Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation. This foundation is available at your local Chanel counter at David Jones and Myer or a Chanel Boutique. The Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation is available in 7 shades in Australia and retails at $77 for 30ml.
I should mention I have the shade BA60 which is not available in Australia and is a tad light for me, hence why I mix with YSL Lé Touche Eclat foundation. In the States they have a larger colour range and go up to shade BA70 (from memory).
How to apply Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua Foundation?
- Because this is a water based foundation you need to give it a good shake before apply
- I prime first, typically using Benefit Poressional
- Using the Real Techniques Stippling Brush or Buffing Brush I blend the foundation into my skin
- I find a beauty sponge absorbs too much of the foundation- which is a waste since its so expensive
Coverage
- Medium coverage, but you can make it less if you want
- Dewy, skin like finish
- Photographs beautifully!
Staying Power
This isn’t the most long wearing foundation, but so long as you prime and apply a light dusting of powder you can get a few hours wear out of this.
Results
I really like this foundation but hate the poor colour selection. Because my shade is quite light I mix it with YSL Lé Touche Eclat foundation which is a similar formula, and it creates the perfect foundation for me. I should also mention it is quite fragrant- the old school high end smell.
If you don’t like wearing too much foundation, like your natural skin to show through, have normal to dry skin and are able to find your colour match, I would recommend trying this foundation.

Already on it! I’ll do a review shortly. But I think the Chanel foundation is better as it has more coverage, but I guess that’s a personal preference xx

It’s such a good foundation, so long as you can get your colour! Also it might be one of those purchase to buy at duty free…
