Welcome to my Beauty Room!

Hey beauties,

I recently moved in with my boyfriend and I’m lucky enough to have my own beauty room! Or as my boyfriend refers to it, the spare room… Today I wanted to share with you how I store all my makeup but please don’t judge how much I own. I’m currently on a non official spending ban with the aim of actually using up my existing makeup #mixupyomakeup

My boyfriend’s family were very generous in giving me their grandmother’s vanity desk (I always call it my beauty desk, don’t ask me why). My boyfriend and I decided it didn’t suit our current taste so we got it refurbished with some Annie Sloan paint.

The beauty desk as pictured above, has a lot of bits and bobs. I’ve tried to keep it as minimalist as possible but I’m struggling.

To the left I have in one glasshouse jar, all my makeup brushes, in another I have lip products such a liquid lipsticks and lip gloss and in the last jar I have eye products such as eyeliners, mascara and cream eyeshadows.

To the right I have my go to skincare products. Generally speaking its the skincare I use in the morning and in the bathroom I have my evening skincare items.

To the left of my beauty desk I have a chest of drawers and an acrylic beauty organiser. I bought the chest of drawers from Kmart or the Reject Shop and the acrylic organiser was sent to me buy The Makeup Box Shop*. They were sweet enough to send me the Glamour Makeup Organizer and even personalised it with my name!

In the acrylic beauty organiser are my go to makeup items.

Starting on the top are my primers, foundations, BB creams and some of my most used lipsticks. There’s also a lid on the box but I prefer to keep things standing so I’ve flipped the lid to the back.

In the first drawer are my face powders, blushes and highlighters.

In the second drawer I keep all my bronzers.

The third drawer contains all my loose eyeshadows and pigments.

In the last drawer (which is deeper than the others) contains my eyeshadow palettes. Some include my MAC palette, Makeup Geek Quad and Urban Decay Naked 2.

The acrylic beauty organiser from The Makeup Box Shop has been so helpful! It’s great to have my makeup easily accessible. The Glamour Makeup Organizer retails for $134 which sounds like a lot, but just think of how much makeup we actually have. Its so worth storing it safely and presentable! And if you’re interested in getting it personalised its only an additional $12, what a bargain!

In the chest of drawers I store more lip products (the ones I don’t use on a regular basis), back up products and hair devices.

And then in my wardrobe I actually store more skincare back ups but I didn’t photograph it since I thought that would be OTT… I also have a drawer dedicated to nail polish which I might move to my beauty desk drawers.

Previously I used to store all my makeup in my chest of drawers and an acrylic beauty organiser and it was just fine. But I have to say its quite nice having all my makeup on display and its a real luxury to sit down and do my makeup. I feel so fancy 🙂
