I’m obsessed with purple smokey eyes especially during winter so I wanted to share how I achieve this look.
Very similar to the Benefit Porefessional, I used this as a primer all over my face.
To create a medium to full coverage but with staying power, I mixed the 2 foundations together. I mixed a pump of Chanel (a little light for me) and a pump of the YSL. I mixed in together on the back of my hand using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. After loading the brush up with the foundation I blended it all over the face in circular motions.
If you follow Glam Life Guru (Tati), you’ll have heard about this powder. It’s a drugstore, translucent powder that Tati absolutely raves about. The first thing I noticed when using this powder is the over powering scent of old lady beauty products…. Moving past that it’s a great setting powder that provides some coverage even though it’s translucent and it blurs pores. Pretty cool stuff!
To start off I primed my eyelids using any leftover concealer. Then using a fluffy blending brush I applied Quarry directly into the crease using wind screen wiper motions.
To the star of the show! I applied the cream eyeshadow directly onto the mobile part of my eye lid, making sure not to get it in the crease. Then using a fluffy synthetic blending brush I blended the edges and a bit on the lids. I then reapplied a bit more of the cream eyeshadow and blended again. I then went back into Quarry and added a bit more into the crease and blend, blend, blend.
I applied the black kohl pencil on the top lashes to add some definition and then blended it out a bit. I then tightlined my eyes- it helps to put the pencil on your lower lashes then close you eye and move the pencil back and forth. Once opening your eye if more is needed continue to apply with your eyes open. I then blended out the lower lash line using the fluffy brush I used to apply Quarry.
I added a hint of Shroom into the inner tear duct to make my eyes pop.
