Let’s shake things up! As I mentioned when I first started this blog I wanted to not only share beauty articles but also lifestyle tricks and tips! Today I bring to you my recommendations for Hawaii. In April I went to Hawaii with my gal pals and we travelled first to the little island of Kauai then to the big island, Waikiki. In a quick summary, Kauai is perfect for the outdoors peeps and Waikiki is for all you avid shoppers.
Anini Beach, Kauai
This is how you would imagine Hawaii, picturesque beach with crystal clear water and white sand. Great for snorkelling.
Poipu Beach, Kauai
My favourite beach of the trip. The beach is beautiful but the reason why I love this beach is because the water is completely flat so it’s like being in a swimming pool. Another great location for snorkelling, seeing sea turtles and monk seals.
Waikiki Beach, Waikiki
This is the main beach near our hotel. Completely flat with no waves, great for paddle boarding.
Best Hawaiian Activities Lū‘au
By far my favourite activity! A Luau is a traditional Hawaiian party where there’s loads of food, music and dancing. It can be pricey but so worth it. I’ve linked the location of where we went.
If you go to Kauai you need to do this. The Napali coast is so beautiful, words can’t do it justice so I’ll just leave a few photos here….
Kayak, Hike and Swim at Uluwehi Falls, Kauai
This was a great day to be one with nature! We kayaked up the Wailua River for about 30 minutes then hiked then finally made it to the secret waterfall. It was such an amazing experience. The most crazy part for me was crossing the river stream while being knee deep in water and holding on for dear life to the rope! So worth it!
Places to Eat and Drink Mermaid Café, Kauai
My favourite Mexican of the trip. My gals pals loved Poki which is a form of sushi so I would recommend trying it at least once. But for me I was happy to try any Mexican from fish, to pork to chicken and beef.
My friends are going to hate me for naming this my favourite of Waikiki but I love it! Great for a savoury meal but of course you need to have some cheesecake! I would recommend trying a few cheesecakes between a group and also a cocktail or two 😉
By far the best meal of the trip! We ate so much at brekkie that we didn’t eat again till dinner!
In the coming weeks, I’ll share with you my favourite places to shop in the USA!
