Review: Australis Metallix Eyeshadows (previously named ACME Eyeshadows)

Hello beauties,

Today I bring to you a quick review of the much hyped Australis Metalix Eyeshadows. These eyeshadows were previously called the ACME Eyeshadows, however Australis recently renamed them Metallix Eyeshadows and launched some new shades. The reason why they’re so hyped about is, they’re considered a dupe for the Stila Magnificent Metals Eyeshadow.

How to use it:

  • Makeup brushes don’t work well, I recommend using a finger to apply onto the lid.
  • If you are going to blend out the edges or add a powder eyeshadow to the outer corner its best to wait a couple of seconds for the Australis eyeshadow to dry first.

  • The texture is in-between a mousse and cream eyeshadow. I personally find it a lot softer then the Stilla eyeshadow
  • Easy to blend the edges
  • When attempting to apply black eyeliner over the eyeshadow I find it difficult to make my eyeliner opaque (it’s better to go for a smudgey/ smokey effect)
  • Long wearing on the lids

Overall I think they’re a bargain at $8.95 and great to have to glam any makeup look. Keep an eye out on the Australis website as they’re always doing promotions, I was lucky enough to pick mine up for 50% off.

  1. I’ve got these, love the metallic pigments .I’ve got the ACME packaging too your eyes look great. I think they were $4.95 when I bought them, might be wrong though. I may need the others now to complete the set. Great post Rachel.

  2. Ok, I think I can’t stay away from those any longer 🙂 I managed to resist until now but after seeing how gorgeous they look on you, I think I will have to go on a mission to find them…
