Hello Autumn!
First thing the weather changes, then the fashion and lastly but most importantly the makeup changes. For Autumn/ Winter here are my 4 go-to lipsticks. There’s something for everyone with plenty of different colours and price points.
Every beauty blogger will recommend MAC Rebel as an Autumn/ Winter lipstick. This is my all-time favourite MAC lipstick and I wear it all year round (rules are meant to be broken). Rebel is a pinky/ purple shade. On me it’s quite purple, however I have noticed on fairer skin tones it can come across more pinky. I also find Rebel quite long wearing and it has a staining effect on the lips. A more affordable dupe would be the Milani lipstick in Sangria, very similar colour but more drying on the lips.
Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick- 107
Very similar to MAC Rebel but I like to think a little different. 107 is a dark reddie/ purple shade. While this is part of their matte collection it definitely is not matte but not also it’s not shiny. I prefer to blot after my first coat and then to reapply and blot, that way it’s a bit more matte and has a long lasting effect on the lips.
Maybelline Color Drama- Light it Up
A red lipstick is a must! I really wanted to include Lime Crime’s Red Velvet Velvetine but with all the controversy around the brand I think it’s better I don’t rave about it. Alternatively Maybelline Color Dramas are new to the market and are bloody fab! This colour is a dark red tone, they have 2 other reds in the range but this is my fave. It’s super easy to apply, really moisturising and lasts well throughout the day. The only downside is, that it bleeds a little so I would recommend using a lip liner beforehand.
Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick- 1995
And for all the gals that like to play it safe, here’s a nude recommendation. 1995 is a dark browny nude colour that has a matte finish without being too dry. On my skintone the colour matches me perfectly but on fairer skins it would be more of a statement nude. I find it lasts a normal amount of time and is relatively comfortable to wear throughout the day.
My other advice would be to break the rules! You don’t have to stick to dark colours, if you want to wear a bright pink go for it! I wear MAC Rebel all year round and I think it looks fab! What’s your favourite colours for Autumn/ Winter?

I love all your photos! Light it up is a favourite of mine this season and it looks amazing on you! I find 1995 a little too drying on my lips but I love the colour. It also looks lovely on you. I have also been wanting to try Rebel by MAC for ages. It’s such a pretty shade. Loved your post! xx

I agree about 1995, it is a little drying. I’m obsessed with Gerard Cosmetics Berry Smoothie. Its so smooth on the lips and the colour is amazing!
