Skincare is always a hot topic and of personal interest to me. I love hearing what people use and why. Today I bring to you my evening skincare routine for hydration. Not to confuse you but when I need to exfoliate my skin using products such as Alpha H Liquid Gold, its slightly different (but we’ll save that for another day). Before we proceed I should tell you my skin is combination; more on the oily side and occasionally dehydrated.
This is an oil cleanser that I use to remove my makeup. You apply a small amount to your dry skin and massage in. I then rinse off with a warm flannel.
I then continue with a second cleanse. This is a clay based cleanser and can be a bit drying so I would recommend this for people with very oily skin. I apply a pea size amount all over my already damp face and use my Clarisonic to work it into the skin. (Full review here of the Clarisonic) I then wash off and pat my face dry with my towel.
Love it! I apply a little less than a pea size all over my face and neck and leave to dry for a few seconds.
I received this in a gift pack and it’s amazing! I noticed results straight away. My skin looked firmer and it seems to even out the texture of my skin. A little of this goes a long way.
I apply a small amount under my eyes and use a tapping motion. Please note you can use your normal moisturiser so long as it doesn’t cause irritation.
If I need extra moisturise I add anywhere between 1 to 3 drops of this on the palms of my hands, I then warm it up then pat onto my face. I used to apply a full dropper onto my face which I think was the cause of many break outs. The lesson is less is more.
And of course a lip balm before I’m off to sleep. I know it seems a bit much, but for me I believe in looking after my skin now so that it looks great when I’m older. It’s impossible when you’re older to reduce the damage caused in your youth. If you take anything away from this I recommend cleansing and moisturising that’s the key.
